SW Alternate

The SW Alternate is a standard, non-bariatric, therapeutic air support surface that is used for the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers. The SW Alternate offers active pressure redistribution in two therapy modes: 1 in 3 Alternation Low Air Loss Therapy and Static Low Air Loss Therapy.

Alternation low air loss therapy is for the treatment or prevention of skin breakdown, such as stages 1-4 pressure ulcers as well as for patients with limited mobility and respiratory issues. The 1 in 3 alternation system means every 3rd cell deflates depending on the programmed cycle time (between 3 to 20 minutes).

Static low air loss keeps skin cool and dry with continuous “true low air loss therapy” which means constant cool air blows through the vapor permeable top covers that are especially designed to eliminate friction and sheer and draw moisture away from the patient. This is ideal for your moisture management protocols. Under this modality, the caregiver can adjust the softness and firmness of the mattress based on the patient’s comfort or clinical decision.
